Ladies Nighty, Night Suits & Gowns
Nighty, night dress, night gown, નાઇટી — different words, same thing. Here is what actually separates one from another, and how to choose.
Nighty, night suit, gown, loungewear — what is the difference?
These words get used interchangeably in Rajkot, and that is fine, but they describe genuinely different garments. Knowing which one you actually want makes the whole visit faster.
| Type | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Nighty નાઇટી | A single-piece dress, usually ankle or calf length, loose through the body | Easiest to wear, coolest in summer, nothing to match |
| Night suit | Two pieces: a top with a full-length bottom | Cooler months, joint families, anyone who wants to answer the door |
| Shorts set | Two pieces with a short bottom | Peak summer |
| Gown | A longer, more flowing single piece, often with a fuller cut | Wearing over nightwear, or when you want more coverage |
| Loungewear | Nightwear cut to be seen — a bit more structured | Working from home, guests at home |
Fabric, honestly
Cotton
Breathes best, absorbs sweat, and is what most people in Gujarat should be sleeping in for eight months of the year. It creases, and it softens with washing rather than before it. A woven cotton has almost no stretch, so buy the size, not the hope.
Hosiery (cotton knit)
Knitted rather than woven, so it stretches and forgives half a size. Softer against the skin from day one and much less prone to creasing. Slightly warmer than a woven cotton of the same weight.
Rayon and blends
Drapes beautifully and holds printed colour better than cotton, which is why the brightest designs are usually these. Less absorbent than cotton, so less comfortable on the hottest, most humid nights.
Satin and silk-finish
Smooth and cool to first touch and the most formal-looking. It does not absorb moisture, so it is a poor choice for a Rajkot May and a very good one for an air-conditioned room.
Making it last
- Wash new prints separately the first two or three times. Dark and bright dyes release the most colour early.
- Turn prints inside out before washing. Most fading is abrasion, not the water.
- Dry in shade. Direct Gujarat sun is harder on colour than any detergent.
- Skip fabric softener on cotton and hosiery. It coats the fibre and reduces exactly the absorbency you bought it for.
- Two or three sets in rotation last far longer than one worn nightly. Elastic in particular needs a day to recover.
What we do not stock
We are nightwear only. No kurtis, no sarees, no lingerie, no western daywear. Shrugs come only as part of a nightwear pair, never on their own. It is a narrow range on purpose — it is why the depth in sizes is there.

Common questions
What is the difference between a nighty and a night suit?
A nighty is one piece, a dress. A night suit is two pieces, a top with a full-length bottom. A shorts set is the same as a night suit but with a short bottom.
Which fabric is best for Rajkot summers?
Woven cotton for the hottest, most humid nights because it absorbs and breathes best. Hosiery, which is a cotton knit, is softer and stretches, and is a good all-year choice.
Do you sell kurtis, sarees or lingerie?
No. We are a nightwear-only store: nightwear, gowns, night suits, loungewear, shorts sets, and gents T-shirts and track pants.
Can I see the designs without coming to the store?
Yes. Book a free video call and our staff will show you the collection live on WhatsApp video, Google Meet or Zoom, and we ship anywhere in India.
